Seven Tips For Stress Release Especially For Moms & Professionals

1] Notice how you go about your day. Pause & breathe and release what is not working.

Do you rush often thinking of what has to be done later or how things went before? I know most parents are juggling much. I too am a parent and have been there and sometimes still catch myself thankfully much earlier!

If you notice yourself breathing either shallow or fast, I invite you to slow down & choose conscious breathing. This will open space to stop rushing & be calm instead.

As children, we naturally learnt abdominal breathing. Somehow, we seem to forget that as we go through our life experiences & become adults. Not only will conscious breathing & being in this moment help you, you will also be a great model for your children on using “pause and breathe” as ways to help prevent meltdowns and redirect.

Do consciously breathe also to release any tension, stress or tightness you may feel. I also invite you to release perfectionism or ways of controlling things so they go a certain way.

What can open up for you when you release the habit of worrying & trying to be & do it all perfectly?

2] What all are you grateful for?

When you develop the habit of appreciating people, nature, what you already have, life events and learning etc on a daily basis, you will notice an increased sense of contentment and joy!.

Practice appreciating & celebrating small joys & victories even with your children. They will begin appreciating more instead of taking things for granted.

As it is wisely said: What you appreciate, appreciates!

3) Identify and write your vision and intentions for the year and also for 5 / 10 years and take baby steps forward.

Take time to identify 2-3 actions for daily practice to fulfill your best intentions and vision.  Your written vision and intentions can be short and crisp OR if have more time and wish to, more descriptive. Then allow yourself to feel the emotions you feel as though you have already received this vision. You will be inspired by the emotions of gratitude and joy on fulfilling your desired vision. Listen for your intuition and inner wisdom guidance and take small steps everyday towards your vision!

Always use wise judgement & modify based on feedback. You know yourself and your situation best. You may choose to share with your spouse /partner, a friend or coach for support.

4] Meet with other Moms you like and trust, share as you intuit best, learn, support and celebrate each other (yes, even virtually too!). 

Research indicates that most women feel a decrease in their stress levels when they connect, share and learn from others like them.

Remember to take time to cultivate friendships that nurture you and fulfill you and vice versa!

5) Take time out for at least one practice that helps you be in observer mode daily and also nurtures you physically, emotionally and spiritually [whatever your faith]. 

Mindfulness practices can help you release old limiting patterns such as reacting in ways you don’t want to sometimes [which often happens to Moms / Dads / or frankly anyone who gets stressed!.]

Thought Invoker: What one-two activities emotionally & /or spiritually fulfill you?

Some activities people find valuable: Yoga, Meditative walks in nature, Running, Swimming, Gardening, Art, Crafts, Tai Chi, playing a musical instrument etc

6) Taking care of yourself is not just important, it’s vital!

Take at least 20 minutes [and preferably more] for yourself daily! Engage in something you love and that you enjoy!

  • What’s possible for you & your family when you take time to invest in you?
  • What’s an activity that makes you feel you are in your genius zone?

Remember the airplane example? Where we are reminded to first put our own oxygen mask then put on the mask for others including our children. After all, what good can we do for others if we aren’t around and well?

7) You don’t have to do it alone!

Empower yourself with the support of a coach who listens for and calls forth your potential, natural gifts and abilities!

Find a coach you resonate with and move forward on your desired results now!

  • Working with a Coach is different from working with a therapist, consultant or even a Mentor.
  • A coach is also different from a friend who listens and also wants you to listen to them and support them.
  • An awesome coach creates with and for you a loving space for you to stretch and grow, enhancing your quality of work and life for what you value most!
